Course summary

This BTEC is an applied general qualification and is widely recognised by both industry and higher education. The content of the BTEC has been designed in collaboration with a range of employers and professional bodies and this ensures that your curriculum meets the needs of the sector. The curriculum is flexible and offers you a good balance of breadth and depth. This is an excellent option if you wish to pursue a career in business and provides ample opportunity for you to put your learning into practice through work experience opportunities. This course supports progression to business related degrees, as well as apprenticeships or employment. You can go on to study degrees such as Business Administration, Management and Business Studies at universities such as Leeds, Liverpool, and Surrey. The Diploma is designed to be the substantive part of a 16–19 study programme for learners who want a strong core of sector study. This programme may include other BTEC Nationals or A Levels to support progression to higher education courses in business areas before entering employment. The additional qualification(s) studied allow learners either to give breadth to their study programme by choosing a contrasting subject, or to give it more focus by choosing a complementary subject. This qualification can also be used to progress to Higher Apprenticeships. This BTEC is equivalent to 2 A Levels or 720 guided learning hours. What skills will I develop? ● Knowledge and understanding of Health and Social Care ● Practical and technical skills ● Vocational behaviours and skills such as communication, teamwork, research and analysis
