Course summary

This course explores the themes: In Search of Rights and Freedoms in the 20th Century during Year 12, and Rebellion and Disorder under the Tudors in Y13. Students will develop their source analysis, interpretation evaluation and essay writing skills, alongside debating key issues and reading in-depth historical material. Year 1 Unit 1: In search of the American Dream: the USA, c1917–96 Unit 2: South Africa, 1948–94: From Apartheid State to ‘Rainbow Nation’ Year 2 Unit 3: Rebellion and Disorder under the Tudors, 1485–1603 Unit 4: Coursework on the topic of the Holocaust

Entry requirements

At least eight GCSEs grades 9-4 Grade 6 in GCSE History. All students must also have achieved a GCSE Grade 5 in English Language OR English Literature.
