Course summary
A Level English Literature is both exciting and challenging, offering the chance to read and explore stories from across the ages and across the globe. Through the study of novels, poetry and plays, students become critical readers and writers, able to analyze and evaluate the written word, refining the skill of argument and debate, while also undertaking independent research, all essential skills for many future careers and skills that benefit study in other subjects. CAREER PATHWAYS: Literature is a facilitating subject, developing a wealth of transferable skills perfect for an array of potential careers. From publishing, editing and working in the media, to roles in management, public relations, marketing and advertising - roles where language, communication and understanding are paramount. Equally, it is a natural stepping stone to the study of the law, roles in government, careers in finance and event management.
