Course summary

This is the most comprehensive course completing the skill training required to be an electrician. Enabling those who successful complete the course to go and find employment in the electrical industry. The course is principally concerned with the higher-level science applicable to the electrical sector and the inspection and testing/fault finding abilities required for the working electrician. It is at this point that students will usually complete an NVQ and AM2 qualifications. The units involved in the C&G 2365 Level 3 Diploma covers AC theory both single and three phase power. Various laboratory experiments. Motor types and their application. Application of the BS 7671 wiring regulations. Successful completion of the course will allow you to seek employment as an electrician either for a construction company or working for yourself.

- You must have completed a level 2 diploma and have a maths and English qualification at level 2 grade C or above. - You will need a minimum Level 1.8 BSKB initial assessment result in maths and English – this assessment must take place in college. You will also be asked to attend an interview. - You will be expected to have 100% attendance, 100% punctuality and homework completed and submitted timely.

Assessment

You will be assessed by on-line multiple choice test, (available through the City & Guilds assessment platform e-volve) plus written examinations and practical assignments. For level 3 electrical courses the following items must be provided by the learner: - Requirements for Electrical Installations, IET Wiring Regulations, Eighteenth Edition, BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 – The Electrical Regulations are allowed to be used during exams. - Guidance Note 3: Inspection & Testing: 4 (Electrical Regulations) – Guidance Note 3 may be used during some exams.
