This course covers Development Through Life Stages, Anatomy and Physiology for Health & Social Care, Sociological Perspectives for Health & Social Care, Psychological Perspectives for Health & Social Care, Safeguarding Adults and Promoting Independence. You will get the opportunity to put your skills to use in the real world by going on placement each week and gain vital experience alongside your studies. This is a one-year course, on completion you can progress to the Extended Diploma for year 2. This course can lead to a number of careers in the NHS as well as exciting careers in Nursing, Social Work, Family Support, Criminology, Psychology and even Law as well as progression to university level courses.
You will need four GCSE grades A-C (9-4) including English, maths and a science. Alternatively, you will have a Diploma in Health & Social Care Level 2 with Merit grade or above.
You will be assessed on an on-going basis through a variety of methods including written exams, case studies and presentations.
