It also has a place in many areas of contemporary culture and media. • Photographic images surround us everywhere from advertising to fashion and news to documentary – photographs communicate strong messages and are our most familiar source of information about the world in which we live. • This course will help you make sense of the visual communication we experience daily. You will study the main areas of photography from Still Life to Portraiture and Landscape Photography. • You will study a wide range of Photographers, study the use of digital and some traditional photographic techniques and learn about layout and presentation, vital skills in today’s media orientated employment market. • This course is suitable for students with a strong interest in photography and the visual arts. Photography is taught as a discipline that is part of the wider area of Art and Design.The course is an ideal partner for A2 Art, Craft and Design, A2 Graphic Communication and/or A2 Media Studies.
