WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR? This course is for students who have a passion for Mathematics and a keen interest in developing their mathematical skills. This course is suitable for anyone who is considering a career in the Sciences, Engineering, Computing, Finance and Medicine. A level Mathematics will open more doors than many other subjects. This course will stimulate interest and enthusiasm needed for further study whilst at the same time, giving students a well-developed sense of the use of mathematical techniques in the real world. The course will develop problem-solving skills, enable students to apply mathematics and recognise its significance in other areas. COURSE CONTENT The course will explore and develop the following topics of interest: A LEVEL MATHEMATICS Pure Mathematics 1 Pure Mathematics 2 Statistics and Mechanics
Students must have achieved a minimum of five GCSEs grades 9-5 or the equivalent, including a grade 5 in GCSE English and a grade 7 in GCSE Mathematics. Those joining the course will be required to successfully complete a bridging course during the summer term. This course will include a summative assessment during the Autumn term.
