It seeks to understand the interaction between human beings and their environments as well as the interdependence of places, people and power. Geography’s interdisciplinary strands are economic, scientific and political. It is a course for those with a natural curiosity equipping you with a rigorous and varied skill set.
Grade 6 at GCSE Geography. If students have not taken Geography at GCSE a Grade 6 in Maths and English Language is required. 6 GCSEs at Grade 6 or higher, and at least a Grade 4 in English and Maths.
Paper 1: Written examination: 2 hours and 15 minutes; 30% of the qualification Paper 2: Written examination: 2 hours and 15 minutes; 30% of the qualification Paper 3: Written examination: 2 hours and 15 minutes; 20% of the qualification Coursework 20% of the qualification – A written independent investigation of 3000–4000 words.
