A minimum of a Grade 5 in Music GCSE. You should also have been playing a musical instrument for at least three years and currently be having instrumental lessons.

Assessment
One written paper (40%) and two nonexamined components. Performance is externally assessed by a visiting examiner and composition is internally assessed and externally moderated. Performance Specialism: Performance 35%, Composition 35% Composition Specialism: Composition 35%, Performance 25%
