Course summary
A Level Chemistry combines theory with practical experience, encouraging imaginative critical and logical thinking for problem solving. The course requires you to have analytical powers and academic rigour and is therefore respected in a number of unrelated career paths like law, accountancy and economics where such qualities are valued. The course includes structure and bonding, the periodic table, formulae, equations, energetics, inorganic and organic chemistry. You will learn via practical work, videos, discussions, presentations, group activities and lectures and will need good numeracy skills. Chemistry is as an essential requirement for progression on to many science-based degree courses, including veterinary science, medicine, pharmacy, forensics and chemical engineering. A level chemistry is also a desirable qualification for a variety of employers, particularly in the fields of science and technology.
