Course summary

Photography is a specialism under the Art & Design umbrella and is an excellent subject choice for anyone wanting to pursue a career within the creative industry. This could be to equip yourself with the knowledge to help gain access to University or apprenticeship as a photographer or to support your visual awareness to work / train in Art, Advertising, Design and in Media. Students will follow a well-structured course that begins with the basics of photography and then develops with an increasing skill set, techniques and the independence needed to successfully complete the course. Students are able to use their camera phones for an easy access into the subject but they can also use digital SLR cameras where they can master camera control and take their images to the next level. There is also a well-equipped studio space with lighting and all students will be given expert tuition in using Photoshop to really make their creativity fly and also enable them to access the higher grade boundaries. The possibilities for a career are virtually endless from general photographer to high-end fashion, adverting and forensics to name a few.
