Course summary

Biology is the scientific study of life on earth. It brings together the investigation of living organisms and life processes from chemical reactions in cells right through to organisms and communities of both flora and fauna.

Entry requirements

At least five 9-5 grades at GCSE level. This should include 6s in English Language and Mathematics and Combined or Triple Science.

How you'll be assessed

Students are assessed at the end of the two years and will sit through three written examinations. Paper 1 is worth 35%, Paper 2 is worth 35% Paper 3 is worth 30%. Students are also assessed throughout the year on various key practical competencies- a number of which will also come up in each of the exams
