This will include: •Key events and individuals •The role and interplay of key economic, social, political and international factors in shaping the past •Analysis and evaluation of primary material •Analysis and judgment of secondary material and historical interpretations
The minimum academic entrance requirement for the Sixth Form for September 2024 is 6 Grade 9-4 GCSEs with at least 3 subjects at Grade 6 including English and Mathematics at Grade 4 or higher. Students sit two exams at the end of Year 13, with each exam focusing on a different component. These exams will take the form of externally assessed written papers lasting 2 hours and 30 minutes. In each exam students are required to answer 3 questions. Students will also have to complete a non-exam assessment (NEA) worth 20% of their overall grade. This is based on individual research and an essay of around 3,000-3,500 words.
