Students who • Are interested in the news, current affairs, politics, debating and issues about the world around them. • Students who have good essay writing skills and enjoy discussion. What can it lead to? Sociology is an ideal subject for students who are inquisitive about the world around them. It focuses on questions of inequality, injustice, power and control. The subject can lead to careers into Social Work, Journalism, Research and Politics What will I Study? For Year One (or AS) Families and Households Education Research Methods For Year Two (A Level) – Crime and Deviance Mass Media Theories in Sociology How will I be taught? In the classroom, alongside trips to the Supreme Court and Harrow School. Course Offer Conditions Successful students have good grades from their GCSEs and at least a 5 in English.
