Students will be introduced to a variety of experiences exploring a range of photographic media, techniques and processes. They will explore relevant images, artefacts and resources relating to photography and a wider range of digital media and art. Where Does It Lead? The course can lead in to an Arts foundation course, leading into degrees in photography, lens-based media courses etc. Careers include the media industries, design, education, galleries and fashion design.
Grade 4 or above in GCSE Photography or Art. Students should be aware that the course will require theoretical written work to be completed. Students will be required to provide their own digital camera, 8mps or higher. A DSLR is not compulsory but is desirable.
Component 1: Personal Investigation and portfolio 60% of total A Level Mark Component 2: Photographic externally set assignment 40% of total A Level Mark 15 hour timed examination
