Course summary
BTEC Creative Digital Media Production is more hands-on than A Level Media Studies and it would suit students who enjoy practical work more than studying theories. The course is designed for students who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment, possibly in the media industries. Year 12 and 13 Content: - An introduction to the study of Creative Digital Media Production - Understanding of the media industry through analysing media representations - Pitching and producing media projects, such as film trailers, adverts, TV programmes, newspapers, magazine front pages, etc. Students who have studied this subject at Holy Cross Sixth Form have gone on to degree courses in TV and Film Production, Media Studies, Digital Media Arts and Advertising Management , Digital Communications and Multimedia Design. This subject is relevant in a range of industries, such as TV, radio, games, film, animation, digital and photo imaging. It is central to a variety of careers for example web design and development, project management, games animation and sound production. Banks, stores and media agencies all employ digital media professions.
