Who is the course for? This qualification is designed for learners who are interested in an introduction to the study of creating IT systems to manage and share in formation, alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in IT. What can it lead to? The qualification, when studied with other level 3 qualifications, is aimed at progression to higher education. However, it also enables students to develop the knowledge and skills needed for entry level roles related to IT, including vocational apprenticeship roles and trainee/entry level roles such as a social media specialist, content developer, web developer or business analyst. To study BTEC level 3 Nationals and WJEC Applied Diploma qualifications, you need to achieve a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades 9-4 (or grade C and above) including either Mathematics grade 4 and/or English Language grade 4. You need at least a grade 3 in GCSE Mathematics to study any Level 3 subject.
