What will I Study? Some examples below but not limited to: 1. Physical chemistry - bonding, energetics, redox equations, thermodynamics, equilibrium constant and electrode potentials. 2. Inorganic chemistry - Group 2 and Group 7, transition metals and reactions of ions in aqueous solution. 3. Organic chemistry - optical isomerism, aromatic chemistry, carboxylic acids and derivatives.
Grade 7 or above in GCSE Chemistry OR Grade 66 or above in GCSE Combined Science
3 papers at the end of A-level. Each exam is 2 hours long. There will be a mixture of short and long answer questions, practical techniques and data analysis as well as multiple choice questions. You will also be assessed on core practicals as part of the A-level course.
