"Learners will study seven mandatory units: • Unit 1: Principles and Applications of Science I • Unit 2: Practical Scientific Procedures and Techniques • Unit 3: Science Investigation Skills • Unit 4: Laboratory techniques and their Application • Unit 5: Principles and Applications of Science II • Unit 6: Investigative Project • Unit 7: Contemporary Issues in Science Learners are given the opportunity to explore, through the optional units, a particular area of science if they wish, to support progression to applied science courses in higher education. This is designed as a two-year, full-time course that meets entry requirements in its own right for leaners who want to progress to higher education courses in the applied science sector before entering employment."
