A Level History is interesting and exciting and covers crucial aspects of English, European and World History. The units we cover at HEHS are as follows: Component 1H ‘Tsarist and Communist Russia (1955-1964)’, Component 2E ‘The English Revolution (1625-1660)’ as well as non-examined component of 3,500 words, on a subject of your choice within the topic of enfranchisement of the British public You will be taught by a variety of methods aimed at reinforcing interest and understanding. You will also be encouraged to undertake your own research.
6 GCSE 9-5 grades to include Maths at Grade 4+ & English Language at Grade 5+ and GCSE History at Grade 5+ (if taken)
You will have two written examinations at the end of Year 13. Tsarist and Communist Russia (1855-64): 2hr 30 mins The English Revolution (1625-1660): 2 hr 30 mins Students will also be required to complete a historical investigation during Year 13 (3,500 word essay). You will need textbooks; arch folders; lined paper
