Course summary

Psychology is the fascinating scientific study of behaviour and the human mind. You’ll study how people interact, how we change and develop, how we think, and how we decide what is normal. You’ll develop your ability to think critically and analytically, further develop both your oral and communication skills and your ability to plan statistically viable experiments. A range of careers and higher education courses in psychology, social sciences, and neuroscience and media studies. Careers in social work, clinical or educational psychology, research, teaching and the media. You will be taught proactively through lectures, discussions, presentations, classwork and small group work.

Exams 100 %. Topics include cognitive psychology, social psychology and developmental psychology. You will also study topics including Aggression, Schizophrenia and Research Methods; and you will apply all this to real life situations. Standard stationery, writing materials and folders Harrow Sixth Form Collegiate expects to run courses that are offered. However, courses that do not recruit to a satisfactory level either at AS or at A2 in Year 13 may be offered at another centre or withdrawn.
