Students who enjoy and are interested in Photography, Media or Art. Higher education or employment in photography, media, art and design or digital imagery. You will be introduced to a variety of experiences, exploring a range of traditional photography (use of SLR cameras and darkroom printing) and digital photography. You’ll learn through practical and critical activities to demonstrate and understand different styles, genres and traditions of photography. You’ll have the choice of exploring portraiture, documentary, photo-journalism, landscape, still-life and natural forms of photography, all with reference to historical and contemporary practices of photography. By seminars, demonstration and a variety of workshops.
6 GCSE 9-5 grades to include Maths, English Language and Photography (if taken) at grade 4+.
Work presented for assessment must show coverage of all assessment objectives. Submissions must include work journals showing evidence of research, analysis, exploration, development & evaluation and a portfolio displaying mounted work. AS Coursework: 60% Exam: 40% The course comprises two units which are internally marked, verified and externally moderated.
