A level Business Studies aims to give an insight into key issues in the news affecting everyday life. We introduce concepts and apply them to business contexts in order to develop a broad understanding of how businesses work. Students are encouraged to use an enquiring, critical and thoughtful approach to the study of business, to understand that business behaviour can be studied from a range of perspectives and challenge assumptions. To study this subject you need to achieve a grade B in GCSE Business Studies or Equivalent Subject. You will also need to be good at analysing and evaluating data. Business Studies requires the application of theories to the real world. You will need to keep up to date with Business events and be able to write analyses and evaluations of events. You will have to write extended answers to questions.
In order for students to study A Level courses, they will need the following:- An Average Point Score of 5.5 or more at GCSE Level, including at least a grade 5 in GCSE English Language and at least a grade 5 in GCSE Maths. To study this subject you need to achieve a grade B in GCSE Business Studies or Equivalent Subject.
