This course is equivalent to 1.5 A Levels in UCAS points. This course would appeal to anyone interested in studying performing or composition. Last year a Year 13 student was accepted into Berklee College in the USA, one of the top places to study music in the world. Extra-Curricular Opportunities: Students perform in whole school events and are encouraged to perform outside of school too. Visiting artists are brought to school to offer workshops, and students receive the opportunity to visit venues such as music studios. All students receive one to one individual music tuition as well as class tuition. Additional Support: Student progress is tracked lesson by lesson. Students use Microsoft Teams with access to resources and exemplar work. Students receive individualised learning outcomes based on their needs. Independent research and study is encouraged, and students are expected to set independent learning targets to guide and inform their future development on the course. Progression Routes: There are thousands of extremely diverse careers in production, theatre, television and radio. Larger employers are the BBC, Sky, gaming companies, film companies and radio stations where music graduates work in fields as diverse as content programming, mixing, sound editing, engineering and development. Music graduates can travel the world employed by international tour deployment companies or live sports broadcasting companies. Outstanding graduates are in demand in studios, performance (from cruise bands to show bands) and gaming soundtracks to name a few.
