Music combines well with arts, languages, humanities and sciences, and is a an academic and creative option which sits particularly well with Math's, Sciences and English. Future medics have studied Music with Biology and Chemistry, and some students combine Music with Music Technology. Music A Level is essential if you want to study music at university or at a conservatoire. However it is also a subject that demonstrates that you have excellent self‐discipline, perseverance, essay writing skills , creative and practical skills. Music is valued highly by all universities as both an academic subject (it has been offered at Oxford for over 800 years), and is valued by prospective employers as a subject which develops all seven transferable skills, developing the whole personality.
