An A Level in Sociology can be the starting point to a variety of careers – from social work to teaching. As a well-respected subject it opens doors to a range of career paths including politics, teaching, law and anthropology. It can lead to several career paths including social work, nursing, teaching, policing, the civil service and legal professions. Your Sociology course will develop your critical thinking skills, encourage you to evaluate sociological thinking and change the way you see the world and your place in it. You will consider Sociology in the context of education, families and households, crime and deviance, beliefs in society, theory and research methods. You will also conduct in depth analysis of sociological theories and reflect on your own experience of the social world, applying it to your study of society.
English and Math's minimum Grade 5 Best 8 including English and Math's, minimum of 48 points, average 6 GCSE Sociology (if you’ve taken it) at grade 9-6.
You will be assessed by three two-hour exams.
