Course summary
This course is a broad-based qualification designed to prepare students for a range of careers in Health & Social Care or for entry into Higher Education. A work placement is a mandatory requirement of the course. Course Units: CORE UNITS Unit 1: Human Lifespan Development Unit 2: Working in Health and Social Care Unit 3: Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Social Care Unit 4: Enquiries into Current Research in Health and Social Care Unit 5: Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs Unit 6: Work Experience in Health and Social Care Unit 7: Principals of Safe Practice in Health and Social Care Unit 8: Promoting Public Health EXAMPLES OF FURTHER UNITS Unit 10: Sociological Perspectives Unit 11: Psychological Perspectives Unit 17: Caring for Individuals with Dementia Unit 18: Assessing Children's Developmental Support Needs Unit 20: Understanding Mental Wellbeing Course Can Lead To: Most students progress to university to follow a degree course in Midwifery, Social Work, Paediatric, Adult or Mental Health Nursing, Primary Teaching, Psychology, Criminology or Health and Social Care. There are also a number of employment opportunities for students directly after the course.
