This Level 3 programme is designed for those who have a passion for sport, in particular the scientific principles of the subject. On this course you will look at a range of different disciplines within the field of sport. Units you will study will include: - Nutrition for Sports Performance; - Psychology for Sport & Exercise; - Anatomy & Physiology; - Research Methods; - Research Project for Sport and Exercise; - Practical Sport Fitness Testing & Training. You will start off on a one year programme studying 90 credits (equivalent to 1.5 A-Levels). Upon successful completion of year one you will then have the opportunity to progress onto the second year, completing a further 90 credits to achieve a full Extended Diploma (3 A-level equivalent). This qualification will form part of a study programme which will include exclusive access to our Sports Academy and Enrichment programme, Maths & English, Tutorial support, Work Experience, and development of employability and study skills.
You will need: 5 GCSE's grade 4 and above, including Maths and English. GCSEs in Science and PE are also desirable). Level 2 Diploma in Sport at Merit/Distinction grade (or equivalent) plus GCSE English and maths at Grade 4 or above. Some applicants may be asked to sit a literacy and numeracy assessment prior to enrolment and must achieve a minimum of Level 1. All applicants must successfully pass an academic interview.
During this course you will build a portfolio of evidence which will include a variety of assessment evidence including witness testimonies, practical observations, written/oral questions, essays, reports, projects and presentations.
