WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR? This course is suitable for students who have good written and reading skills. The course actively aims to engage students in the process of historical enquiry. This will develop them into effective and independent learners and as critical and reflective thinkers with enquiring minds. Students will develop their knowledge and understanding of periods, societies and aspects of history. The course will foster students’ ability to ask relevant questions about the past and to investigate them critically using a range of sources. WHERE NEXT - POSSIBLE CAREER PROGRESSION? Students must have achieved a minimum of five GCSEs grades 9-5 or the equivalent including a grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics, Grade 6 in GCSE English Language and/or Literature and a Grade 6 in GCSE History. Students who have not studied History previously may apply but will require a Grade 6 in GCSE English, and will be required to complete all Bridging work set.
