The Business BTEC course provides rigour and balance and promotes the ability to apply learning immediately in new contexts. Alongside a program that provides a thorough understanding of business concepts it also provides an opportunity for all students to practice cognitive, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, with a view to developing them to improve future opportunities. Year 12 and 13 Units include studying business, developing marketing campaigns, personal and business finance as well as optional units such as Digital Marketing, pitching for new business and investigating corporate and social responsibility. The Extended Certificate is for learners who are interested in learning about the business sector alongside other fields of study, and is perfect for students with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in business-related subjects. Students who study Business Studies at The Holy Cross Sixth Form could progress onto a business related degree or Higher National Diploma. The course also leads students directly into employment in areas of growth such as finance, business, administration, media and management.
