Course summary
This course helps students understand the significance of historical events, the role of individuals in history and the nature of change over time. Over the course students will gain a deeper understanding of the past through political, social, economic and cultural perspectives. Students will engage with two historical topics which will provide them with the knowledge and skills required to be a successful historian. Content The Tudors (1485-1547) The Cold War (1945-1963) Non-Examined Assessment (coursework) on student selected topic (A Level only) History is about people and people are complex, fascinating and a whole lot of other things besides. This is why history is probably the most comprehensive and certainly one of the most intriguing subjects there is. If you enjoy making sense of the past in order to fully understand ourselves now, and to understand our possible future, then this is a great A level option!
