Studying French at A-Level gives students a broad overview of French culture. By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate to a high academic standard, on a broad range of topics. Students will also undertake a research project on a topic of their choice. Must attain five 9 - 5 grades in full course GCSE subjects including Maths and English Language or Literature. No vocational subjects allowed to count in the five 9 – 5 grades. Indivdual subject critera also applies. English Lang/ Lit 5 ,Maths 5 at least 6 in GCSE French. Exceptions can be made for students for whom a language is spoken at home, subject to a written test.
Paper 1: Reading, Listening and translation 2hours 30 minutes. 50% Paper 2: Writing (essay on a film and a book) 2 hours. 20% Paper 3: Oral exam 23 minutes. 30%
