In the future are you looking to work within an employment sector that holds an array of existing and constantly evolving technologies and presents a stimulating and challenging working environment? The BTEC Nationals qualification will give you the essential knowledge, understanding and skills to allow you to progress into a specific area of work which will incorporate the use of IT, e.g. systems networking and product development or into a specific job such as IT Product Developer, Computer Games Designer and Systems Analyst. The BTEC National Certificate in IT is equivalent to a GCE AS Level and the Extended Certificate which is the full. BTEC course is equivalent to a GCE A2 Level qualification.

Assessment
The full BTEC course consists of four units, two of which are externally assessed through a written paper or a practical exam and the remaining units are assessed internally through scenario based assignments, whilst the Certificate consists of one of these internal and external units.
