Course summary

BTEC Health and Social Care offers a wide range of units and experiences for students to develop their knowledge and understanding of working within the Health, Social Care and Early Years sectors. Across the course students will cover mandatory and optional units, which will prepare them for a career within the sector. Mandatory Units: Double Award Unit 1 Human Lifespan Development Unit 2 Working in Health and Social Care Unit 5 Meeting Individual Care & Support NeedsOptional Units: Double Award Unit 11 Psychological Perspectives Unit 19 Nutritional Health

Minimum 5 GCSE's Grades 9-5 including Maths and English

How you'll be assessed

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Health and Social Care (double) 8 units (2 exam units, 1 controlled assessment, 5 units of coursework). Unit 1 exam taken in May year 12, unit 2 exam taken January year 13, unit 4 controlled assessment taken in year 13 All assessments are assessed at pass, merit, distinction, distinction*. Exam units must achieve a pass grade to complete qualification.
