Course summary
The Diploma consists of nine units (three external units and six mandatory units which include two optional units) covering a wide range of topics including Sports Leadership and Sport Psychology. The Extended Certificate consists of four units of which three are mandatory and two are external based on Functional Anatomy and Physiology. Mandatory content (83%). External assessment (67%). A broad base of study for the sport sector, his qualification is designed to support progression to higher education when taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels. CAREER PATHWAYS: Employment opportunities include health & fitness instructor, coaching assistant, PE teacher, coach, gym instructor and sports scientist.

Assessment
