WHY STUDY THIS COURSE? This course offers a range of fun and exciting opportunities for you to explore. All units are practical and hands-on, with opportunities for both individual and team-based work. The ability to play an instrument is not required, although some basic keyboard skills and music theory knowledge is preferable. Students will be broadening their skillset through first-hand experience working with industry-standard equipment and techniques in a fun, engaging environment. COURSE DESCRIPTION Throughout the duration of the course, you will develop a range of skills and have access to a wealth of opportunities to enhance your portfolio. These include: · How to use DAW effects to create a broadcast-standard mix. · How to use microphones and recording equipment to successfully capture and edit sound. · How to gain experience and employment in the arts industry (with the option of subject relevant work experience). · How to compose and sequence an effective piece of original music, using a range of DAW skills. · How to plan and execute a successful live recording of a concert.
