Course summary

Building on from the sound foundation at GCSE this course will further develop language skills as well as knowledge. The core content is social issues and trends, artistic culture and grammar. Options works are literary texts and films. This course is a foundation for further study of Spanish and other languages at University. This course also suits students who wish to undertake Economics, Government and Politics, Law and International Relations.

Entry requirements

At least eight GCSEs grades 9-4 Grade 6 in GCSE Spanish. All students must also have achieved a minimum of a GCSE Grade 5 in English Language OR English Literature.

Paper 1: Listening, Reading and Writing (100 marks / 40% of A Level) Paper 2: Writing (80 marks / 30% of A Level) Paper 3: Speaking (oral exam 60 marks / 30% of A Level)
