This course is for learners who are interested in a career in the health and social care sector. The qualification supports progression to higher education when taken as part of a programme of study that includes other vocational or A Level qualifications. The course enables students to look at human development, working in social care as well as looking at case studies of individual care. Students are expected to carry out independent study and research to make reasoned judgements and present conclusions. The qualification carries UCAS points and is recognised by higher education providers as contributing to meeting admission requirements for many relevant courses.
