Course summary

The qualification will help you gain an understanding of the skills required within the electrotechnical sector. You will cover compulsory aspects such as: Working safely and effectively Design, construct, test and commission electrical systems Methods of supervision Electrical science and principles Regulations and law Diagnose and repair electrical faults Centres and providers work with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grades 9-4/A*-C OR A related Level 2 vocational course at Merit or higher (if a pass grade is achieved GCSE grades and/or functional skills results may also be considered); Including a GCSE at grade 9-4/A*-C (or equivalent) in English or Mathematics OR English and Mathematics assessed at Level 2 or above by College assessment. A Level 2 Electrical Installation Diploma. Mature applicants may be considered on relevant experience without having the required entry requirements.
