Course summary
This one-year course will develop your skills and knowledge in Health and Social Care, alongside improving your English and Math's, to help you progress into the sector. This course is available to learners who have completed the level 2 qualification in health and social care previously. Learners in this course will also study math's and English GCSE. The course is studied on-site at the Camden Road campus. Learners are expected to attend all lessons that have been timetabled throughout the year. During this course, you will also have the opportunity to complete additional training activities, such as a bespoke Safeguarding training session that is created for the care sector. This also includes the updates from 'Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022'. This study programme is made up of various components. These include maths, English, Work placement and Enrichment activities. Work placement opportunities are within a relevant setting according to your chosen career pathway. We are partnered with most London Hospitals and our work placement officers will work with you to secure the best placement opportunity available.

Assessment
The course is assessed through a combination of coursework activities, theoretical and practical assignments, assessment tests, exams and case studies. There are two externally assessed units. All units are assessed and graded and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded. Assignments are awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction grade. The external examinations are sat in January 2024 following your course start date of September 2023.
