If you enjoy mathematics and are interested in its applications to the real world, AS-Level Mathematical Studies may be the course for you. This one-year AS-Level course contains mathematics for personal finance, estimation to solve real-world problems, and examining data sets (including critical analysis of data in the media).
A minimum of 6 grade 4s, including a grade 4 or above in GCSE English Language, is required. GCSE Maths must also be at grade 5 or above.
The AQA specification is linear, with two end-of-year exams. Both papers you will sit are 1 hour 30 minutes long and are made up of a mixture of question styles, from short, single-mark questions to more complicated, multi-step problems.
