Course summary

History is a highly reputable academic subject that provides students with the knowledge and skills to not only understand the past, but to also make judgments on the significance of events. A History student must be studious and be able to recall key knowledge. In History you will learn about the chronology of events and different characters and how that shapes History. Students will also develop the skills of how to analyse sources and historians' viewpoints, as well as learning how to analyse past events and evaluate the importance of them. Year 1 - A Level Paper 1C: How successful did the Tudor Consolidate their power? The reigns of Henry VII & Henry VIII Paper 2N: Dissent and Revolution, 191 Year 2 – A Level NEA Paper 1 C: The reigns of the “Little Tudors” Edward VI& Mary. Elizabeth I Turmoil to Triumph Paper 2: The rise of Stalin and Stalin in power.

Entry requirements

Must attain five 9 - 5 grades in full course GCSE subjects including Maths and English Language or Literature. No vocational subjects allowed to count in the five 9 – 5 grades. Indivdual subject critera also applies. At least a 6 in GCSE History and 5 in GCSE English.
