Course summary
The AS-Level portion of this course covers microscopy, cells, biochemistry, exchange and transport in animals and plants, disease and immunology, biodiversity, classification, and evolution. If you choose to carry Biology onto A-Level, you will explore topics such as hormonal and neuronal communication, homeostasis, energy cycles, excretion, biotechnology and gene technologies, genetics, ecosystems, and responding to the environment. Biology A-Level is a very beneficial qualification to have; it is a key subject for a lot of Higher Education courses and STEM careers (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), particularly in medicine, healthcare, and jobs/courses involving plants or animals.
