Course summary
Within AS/A-Level Chemistry, you will gain insight into the everyday uses of Chemistry and the impact it has on our lives through a combination of challenge and practical work. The topics covered in this course include moles, acids and bases, energy changes, rates of reaction, reversible reactions, and organic chemistry. You will also carry out regular practical work, which will contribute to the practical endorsement.

A minimum of 6 grade 4s, including a grade 5 in both GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths, is required. A grade 6 in GCSE Chemistry OR two grade 6s in GCSE Core + Additional Science is also required.

Assessment
This course is assessed by externally set and marked examinations. You will also be assessed by a non-exam assessment (NEA); this practical endorsement will be achieved by meeting a set of twelve practical skills that are assessed by your teacher during the course.
