Course summary

Have you ever wondered what it is that makes some people behave the way they do, why you’re scared of spiders or how different things can affect your mood and even your confidence? Psychologists could hold the answers to your questions and if they don’t yet, you can be sure they are looking for them. Why study it? Psychology is the study of human behaviours using scientific methods to both analyse and explain different human behaviours. Studying psychology will make you look at yourself and the world in a different way! This subject is for you if… • You are inquisitive. • You have a scientific mind. • You are interested in the social sciences and can research phenomena independently. Where can it lead you? A-level Psychology students often go on to study psychology at university. It works well as a combined degree with subjects such as sociology, English, business studies, law and teaching. Many students pursue careers in child psychology or clinical psychology. In addition, many areas of research and business value the degree.
