Studying Economics helps you to understand many of the big and puzzling questions facing the UK and the world today, such as:  What can be done to improve the prospects for the UK economy?  Why is high inflation a problem?  Should all education and healthcare be provided free of charge?  Are Premier League footballers overpaid? Economics is therefore likely to be of particular interest to students who are curious about topical issues and current affairs. The subject has a great deal of ‘real-world’ relevance which is regularly explored as part of our varied and stimulating study programme. Economics is an ideal course for the inquisitive student who has an ability to think logically. Throughout the course, students are guided to problem-solving, to analyse important issues and to challenge established viewpoints and theories.
