EQUIVALENT TO 3 A LEVELS T Levels are an alternative to A levels, apprenticeships and other 16 to 19 courses. Equivalent in size to 3 A levels, a T Level focuses on vocational skills and can help students into skilled employment, higher study or apprenticeships. A 45-DAY INDUSTRY PLACEMENT Each T Level includes an in-depth industry placement that lasts at least 45 days. Students get valuable experience in the workplace; employers get early sight of the new talent in their industry. 80% CLASSROOM, 20% WORK ------------------------------------------------------------------------ T Level students spend 80% of the course in their learning environment, gaining the skills that employers need. The other 20% is a meaningful industry placement, where they put these skills into action.Students will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including: the business environment – a general understanding of business models, tax laws, fundamental business principles and drivers for change fundamentals of financial accounting – an understanding of elementary financial principles, concepts and practices and how this content links to relevant accounting, bookkeeping, and business mathematics requirements professionalism and ethics - an understanding of professional conduct and responsibilities in the workplace and ethical dilemmas for the individual, organisation and professional data driven innovation and analytics and design thinking – an awareness of key requirements of a data governance framework and understand the main contemporary visualisation tools and when they are best used to support decision making. In addition to the core content, each student will also complete at least one module of occupation-specific content. The specialisms available in the T Level in Finance are: retail and commercial banking analyst investment banking and asset and wealth management analyst insurance practitioner financial compliance/risk analyst
Overall requirement for Post 16 ▪ Five GCSEs at 9-4 (English and mathematics grade 4) ▪ A maximum of two BTECs at merit can count
