Course summary

With this qualification, students can expect to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills of the principles of IT and Global Information Systems. Students will also explore Cyber security in the context of a business. To further their skills, students will look into application design and web design and prototyping. From these, students will gain an insight into the IT sector as you get the opportunity to investigate the pace of technological change, IT infrastructure, and the flow of information on a global scale, and the importance of legal and security considerations. Collaborators include BT, Barclays, Cisco, CompTIA, IBM, Naace, Tech partnership (SSC) and supporting universities including Anglia Ruskin University, Arden University, Birmingham City University and University of Bath. Upon choosing this course students will also develop professional, personal and social skills through interaction with peers, stakeholders and clients, as well as theoretical knowledge and understanding to underpin these skills. These support the transferable skills required by universities and employers such as communication, problem solving, time management, research and analytical skills. This qualification is designed in collaboration with experts spanning the breadth of the sector in IT focus on the requirements that today’s universities and employers demand.
