
The aims of the course are to enable students to develop knowledge, skills and an understanding of the factors influencing the quality of sporting performance.
Students wishing to pursue an A Level programme must, in all but exceptional circumstances, have achieved 6 standard GCSE passes (grade 4-9), with a strong pass (grade 5 or higher) in at least 4. Students should also attain the subject-specific minimum grades in subjects relevant to those to be studied Grade 5 or equivalent in PE if taken. Grade 4 in English Language. Grade 4:4 in GCSE Combined Science, or a Grade 4 in two separate sciences, with an aptitude for Biology (grade 5 preferred). At least one grade 5 in another literate subject.
