This course challenges students to analyse key events, to isolate important issues, defend points of view, construct arguments and reach well founded conclusions.
Students wishing to pursue an A Level programme must, in all but exceptional circumstances, have achieved 6 standard GCSE passes (grade 4-9), with a strong pass (grade 5 or higher) in at least 4. Students should also attain the subject-specific minimum grades in subjects relevant to those to be studied If taken, grade 5 in History at GCSE. Grade 4 in English Language. In total, at least two grade 5s in literate subjects.
